The New College Foundation recently named an investment portfolio consultant as its new chairman of the board.
Alison Gardner serves on the board, which she has served since 2018. The organization supports New College of Florida, a public liberal arts college based in Sarasota.
“Alison is a strong New College champion and her commitment to supporting the college through the work we do at the foundation is truly inspiring,” MaryAnne Young, executive director of the New College Foundation, said in a statement. “His financial expertise and advice have been invaluable. Her passion for the education and well-being of our students is reflected in every decision she makes. His years of leadership will strengthen our movement towards an even brighter future.
A 35-year veteran of the investment industry, Gardner earned an MBA from New York University’s Stern School, a Certificate of Study from La Sorbonne in Paris, France, and a Bachelor of Arts magna cum Laude from Duke University.
“I am delighted to take on my new role as Chair of the New College Foundation Board of Trustees,” she said. “This is an exciting time for all of us at New College. With Dr. Patricia Okker at the helm, I foresee transformative growth in our immediate future.
